Rising Stars Summer Camp
The Rising Stars Summer Camp is a fun way to improve your skating skills through small group instruction while meeting new friends and participating in on and off-ice activities. The camp is designed for skaters of all abilities, from beginner level skaters with limited experience to freestyle skaters working on axel jumps. Participants will be placed into small groups with other skaters of similar age and ability. This camp focuses on improving existing skills while learning new ones. Skaters will also be exposed to other aspects of the sport that can improve their skating, including off-ice strength training, dance, and interpreting to music. At the end of the week, skaters will perform a short program to music that demonstrates their new skills.
All camp participants must be a Learn to Skate USA or ISI member. Campers do not need to be members of St. Paul Figure Skating Club.
Below is an overview of our past presenters and a link to our staff coaches. Other coaches may be added as needed and the coaches who will be teaching are subject to change.

Other Information
-
No rental skates are available and please bring helmets (bicycle or hockey) for very beginner skaters
-
Due to allergy restrictions, no snacks or lunches will be provided. Each camper must provide their own food and drinks. Each skater is highly encouraged to bring a water bottle so skaters can refill their water bottle as needed throughout the day.
-
Performance Day is the Thursday of each camp. Our regular time for the performance is from 11:10 - 12:10 PM (though please be understanding if the time changes slightly; the Director will email you before the camp begins if the time changes). We then do a short awards ceremony after the performance.
-
Half Day Campers should plan to stay until 12:30 PM on Thursday. For Full Day Campers, we continue with our regular camp schedule after the performance is over until 4:00 PM.
-
We encourage costumes for performance day. Skaters can choose to wear whatever they have at home - a skating dress, a character costume (i.e. we've had kids dress up as dragons, superheroes, princesses, etc.) or their camp t-shirt with their favorite skating pants. If you are traveling to attend camp, please bring whatever costume / outfit your skater is comfortable in. We do not encourage families to buy anything new for the performance.
Private Lessons
The St. Paul FSC offers private lessons for skaters who would like to enhance their camp experience. Please contact the Camp Director to set up a time and a coach for your skater.
Please note:
-
Ice fees and coaching fees for private lessons are separate than the camp fee
-
Skaters must pay for their own ice time fee and coach fee
-
The Rising Stars Camp does not cover the cost of private lessons or ice fees associated with private lessons
The Camp Director has the right to limit registrations. Late registrations may be accepted if there is availability at the discretion of the Camp Director. No refunds can be given once a skater is registered for camp.
